One of the Boston marathon bombing suspects has been killed and the other is on the run after a dramatic shoot-out in the city.
The alleged terrorist – dubbed ‘Suspect 1’ by the FBI – died in hospital after a university patrol cop was shot dead on campus and explosions and machine gunfire rocked the city’s Watertown area.
Police said he had a bomb strapped to his chest and fear the second man – named ‘Suspect 2’ – who is still on the loose, is armed with explosives and “wants to kill people”.
The one with the black cap was shot in a gun battle with Police and died at the hospital, while the one with the white cap is still on the run.
Police warned that ‘Suspect 2’, who was seen on CCTV wearing a white baseball cap, is a “threat to anybody that might approach him” and have warned Boston residents not to answer their doors to anyone.
Both the dead man and hunted man are “responsible for the bombings” on Monday which killed three people and wounded 176, police confirmed.
